Despite the cheaper costs of manufacturing overseas, the pharmaceutical industry currently continues to invest in the UK as a manufacturing location. This success is built on the existing quality and expertise available in the UK, but we should certainly not be complacent that this will necessarily continue.

Overseas countries are aggressively for inward investment and the UK pharmaceutical industry will need to invest heavily in training, technology and specific incentives to maintain its present position.
