Why Pharmaceuticals?

What makes a career in the industry worthwhile

tabletsIf you ask anyone who works in the pharmaceutical industry what is their main motivation, it's more than likely you'll hear the same answer - to make people's lives better. Not many jobs offer you more of a chance to do this.

The research and development of new medicines is a long, complex and expensive process. It isn't easy to find new medicines to treat emerging diseases, or diseases that currently have no effective treatments. Or even to find medicines that work better than existing treatments or with fewer side effects.

People who work in the pharmaceutical industry like a challenge. They also enjoy team work. Medicines are discovered and developed by multi-disciplinary teams of highly skilled individuals, each contributing their own knowledge and skills to achieve the goal of a medicine that will treat or cure a disease and improve the quality of life of millions of people throughout the world.
